Prescription Co-Pays Restored to Last Year’s Levels

Senate Republican Budget Officer Anthony Bucco issued the following statement regarding Governor Christie’s announcement that the PAAD and Senior Gold prescription programs are being fully funded in the Fiscal Year 2011 budget:

“I commend Governor Christie for taking a balanced approach to restoring the PAAD and Senior Gold co-payments to last year’s levels, without the need for higher taxes. As we draw nearer to the June 30 budget deadline we must redouble our efforts to send the governor legislation that promotes job growth for all New Jerseyans.”

Bucco/Pennacchio Bill to Require Helmets on Ski Slopes Clears Committee

Legislation sponsored by Senators Anthony Bucco and Joe Pennacchio that would require skiers under the age of 18 to wear helmets on the slopes unanimously passed the Senate State Government, Wagering, Tourism and Historic Preservation Committee today.

“Skiing is an inherently dangerous sport,” Bucco stated. “It is necessary to mandate the use of helmets on the slopes by young people because of their relative lack of experience and the high speeds involved.”
